Spice Up Your Morning Yoga
Looking for mix up your Saturday morning yoga practice? Get more grounded at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Lincoln Park. Every Saturday morning at 8:30am, join all varieties of butterflies in the Butterfly Haven for butterfly yoga. Tickets are $15 in advance.
Elevate your yoga practice (to about 1,000 feet) with a 60 minute vinyasa style class in the 94th floor Hancock Observatory in Gold Coast. Stop by every Saturday or Sunday at 9am to take in unobstructed views of the downtown Chicago skyline and lakefront. Bring your own mat to class. Tickets are $18 in advance and include a day pass to the observatory.
Fall Festival at Maggie Daley Park
Fall is in the air! Head to Maggie Daley Park of Michigan Avenue in the Loop for this free outdoor event, 12pm to 5pm on Saturday, October 19th. Enjoy games, crafts, and fare along the skating ribbon. Afterward, head to the Arts in the Dark parade on State Street.
Imagine the Moon Sky Show at Adler Planetarium
This show is the Adler’s newest addition and explores how the moon has been the inspiration for human creativity. The run time is 30 minutes and tickets can be purchased here.
Lit & Luz Festival of Language, Literature, and Art
This annual festival at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Gold Coast celebrates the cultural exchange between writers and visual artists from Mexico City and Chicago. Stop by Saturday, October 19th for readings, artist talks, performances, showcases, and a magazine finale to conclude the event.
